ART

As a multidisciplinary artist, I have always been driven by the need to express ideas through visual form. My path has been a continuous exploration across disciplines, allowing me to refine both my technical ability and my point of view. Over time, that process has led me to a place where concept and execution work together, shaping a distinct voice grounded in both thought and craft.

I would describe my work as conceptual surrealism. I am drawn to realism and respect the discipline it requires, but realism on its own is not enough for me. It can be engaging and even impressive, but without a compelling idea behind it, it becomes more of an exercise than a statement. For me, realism is a foundation. It gives the work credibility and allows the idea to land with greater clarity and impact.

At the same time, concept alone is not enough either. Without the discipline of strong execution, even a good idea can fall short. It is easy to replicate ideas or generate them quickly, but what matters is how they are realized. The balance between idea and craft is where the work becomes meaningful. That intersection is where I focus my efforts.

My paintings and illustrations reflect this approach. I often combine organic forms with unexpected or constructed elements, creating compositions that feel both familiar and altered. The goal is not simply to present something surreal, but to build something that feels believable enough to draw the viewer in, while carrying an idea that holds their attention.

Beyond my own work, I value the role of teaching and mentorship. I believe that developing a creative voice requires both curiosity and discipline, and I am committed to sharing that perspective with others. Through workshops, presentations, and direct collaboration, I aim to help others strengthen their skills while also encouraging them to think more critically about the ideas behind their work.

Ultimately, my work is about bringing together concept and execution in a way that feels intentional. Realism provides the structure, the idea provides the purpose, and the combination of the two is what gives the work its strength.

Oxford International Art Fair

FEBRUARY 26-28, 2016

The recent exhibition of the Oxford International Art Fair took place on February 26-28 and was attended by over 6,000 visitors and featured the artwork of 150 artists from 26 countries. I consider myself fortunate to have been among this selected group of artists that exhibited at the show. OIAF2016 took place at the Oxford Town Hall which is located in the heart and center of Oxford, England. Upon arrival to the event, one was greeted by a grand staircase with vaulted ceilings, atop of which stood a modern, monolithic style marquee showcasing a list of the exhibiting artists and sponsors. Inside, an array of artwork was on display against a backdrop of Gothic Architecture. This historic setting and the world-class art that was on display all made for a very fun and chic event which was enjoyed by the public, art industry, participants and volunteers. I've always felt that one of the higher purposes of art is to advance culture. To that end, this event certainly made a nice contribution.
